Fully featured recorder for high performance and ease ofuse.
The WS series established for its clear audio quality andsuperb operability has been improved.
The new WS-853 features a new Intelligent Auto Mode, which is perfect for when there is a distance between the speakers and recorder, such as in large meeting rooms.
The recorder optimises the recording level regardless of whether the audio source is near or far, making it possible to record audio that is easy to listen to.
Simple Mode has been added to the menu for easy, intuitive controls that are perfect for beginners.
The new WS series recorders can be used in a wide range of situations, from students to business users.
High quality recording
With the ease of use found in all WS series recorders, this model achieves a highly realistic stereo feeling thanksto the two low noise, high sensitivity microphones.
The new Intelligent Auto Mode provides automatic sensitivity adjustment, and a Low-cut filter removes unnecessary noise from your recordings.
Superb stereo feeling with True Stereo Microphones
Two low-noise directional microphones positioned at a 90° layout enable you to create high quality recordings with a realistic stereo feeling.
This feature ensures that you capture the sense of direction and distance of the speakers in the recording which is useful for meetings, lectures or training presentations.
Automatic sensitivity adjustment with Intelligent Auto Mode
The new Intelligent Auto Mode function automatically adjusts the microphone sensitivity according to the input level.
For example, when you record the voice of a person far away in a large meeting room, the input level tends to be lower. In this case, the recorder automatically raises the sensitivity of the microphone making them easier to hear.
Alternatively, when you record in a smaller meeting room with only a few people, the sensitivity is automatically lowered, so that the voice of the speakers close by do not sound too loud.
In this way, the function automatically keeps track of the input level and simultaneously adjusts the recording level so that it always records in the best quality.
This ensures that the recording remains consistent by nothaving a speaker’s voice too quiet or too loud.
To set this function, simply select "Auto" as the recording level from the menu.
- *If you select "Conference" for the recording scene while in Simple Mode, Intelligent Auto Mode is activated.
When low, the sensitivity is raisedWhen high, the sensitivity is lowered The sensitivity is automatically optimised
Low-cut filter eliminates extraneous noise
During recording, the low-cut filter is used to cut the sound at frequencies of 300 Hz and lower during the recording process.
Typical examples of these lower frequencies include air conditioner noise, projector fan noise, and even wind noise while outside.
By cutting the lower frequency during recording your audio is natural sounding and free of background noise and distortion during playback.
Playback functions
Featuring an array of playback features to accommodate your needs, such as the Voice Balancer for easy listening throughequalisation of volume levels.
Voice Balancer delivers audio quality that is easier to hear
When voices are recorded at different volume levels due to the distance and physical relationship to the recorder, you can use the Voice Balancer to automatically make smallervoices louder, and ensure that louder voices stay below a given level, providing playback where everyone can be heard clearly.
This comes in handy when recording sound sources from multiple positions, such as in a large meeting or conference.
Since the voice filter operates simultaneously, the prominent noise produced when amplifying small sounds is also reduced.
By eliminating the lower and higher frequencies during playback, recorded voice is even further enhanced.
This enables much clearer playback than the functions offered by our competitors.
Normal playback Possible use of the Voice Balancer
