So how does this work? - have you ever been to a set of apartments and the person upstairs
"buzzes" you in? Well this is the same principle.

This device replaces your striker plate in your door architrave and connects to 2 wires back to either the main unit or front door camera depending on the model of the intercom. You need to cut out the timber, aluminium door frame to the size of this product and mount it (there is no need to touch the door itself, it is the architrave that you are modifying). The door then opens and closes like normal or when the button is pressed the latch releases and allows the door to be opened.

Ideal for use with Swann's DIY Doorbell Video Intercom, the Electric Door Strike allows you to open the door or gate with the touch of a button. The Swann Electric Door Strike is 12V operated and is fail secure so that it stays locked without power. Featuring a stainless steel faceplate and heavy duty latch, the Swann Electric Door Strike will mount in most wood or aluminium frames.
