N connectors remain popular throughout a range of wireless applications including UHF, 3G, 4G LTE, and WiFi technologies. Also referred to as the N-Type connector, the design is durable with good power handling characteristics.

The N Female connector can be identified by its thick, medium-sized body which has an outer thread. The centre receptacle is thicker than many other connector types and is air-gapped from the outer body with no insulating mechanism. It sits naturally recessed inside the body.

This N Female crimp connector is used to terminate RG-58 and LMR-195 (or equivalent) series braided coaxial cables. Installation is very simple. After preparing the cable, the connector is slid over the cable until the cable’s centre conductor sits within the solder-cup that has been pre-fitted inside the connector. The conductor is then soldered in place. A standard 6.5 mm (0.255″) hex die is used to crimp the ferrule.
